From Thyme To Thyme

This is rather unusual of Sistem An Nisaa but notwithstanding, these wonderful products produced by Melaleuca - The Wellness Company, are definitely worth showcasing in this blog as I have found them to be indispensable as cleaning and disinfecting agents.

All Melaleuca's products contain the magical tea tree oil; they're safe to use as they do not contain hazardous chemicals and they smell so pleasant. But most important of all, they're very effective as claimed despite using botanicals as their active ingredients.

The Sol-U-Guard in particular, contains thyme, lemon grass and clove oil, the former two of which are considered as foods/substances mentioned and used in prophetic medicine (a medical faculty taught and practised by the prophet Muhammad pbuh).  This is one of the main reasons why I advocate the use of these products and feature them here.

It is said that the Messenger of God, prophet Muhammad pbuh said: "Fumigate your houses with frankincense and thyme." 

Dried thyme

Even though this hadith is not reliable.However research show that due to it's volatile oil thymol content, thyme is anti-bacterial, antiseptic and has powerful medicinal properties especially beneficial to the respiratory system. It is used in the treatment of coughs, colds, asthma, coughs, laryngitis, sinusitis, sore throats and tonsillitis. It expels phlegm and fights infectious diseases, killing bacteria such as the E.coli, staphylococcus and salmonella, as well as 99.9% of household germs. Read the report here. 

The Sol-U Guard Botanical is used by diluting the liquid and spraying the solution using a spray bottle. This leaves the room or area sprayed with a very pleasant, herbal scent and feeling very clean and fresh.
